Search & connectors
Give the AI live data and external tools: web search for up-to-date answers, MCP connectors for external systems, and Google sign-in for Gmail, Calendar, and Drive.
Web search
The Search toggle in the chat input row turns web search on for a message. It runs Google search (via Serper) so the AI can ground answers in live, current information — news, prices, docs, anything past your training data or beyond what's attached.
- Toggle it per message — it's not a global setting.
- Subject to your plan's monthly web-search quota (see Plans & pricing).
MCP connectors
In the paperclip menu, choose MCP connectors to browse the connector catalog, add a custom connector by URL, and manage "My connectors." Tools are enabled per message from the connectors panel — you choose what the AI may reach for on that turn.
- Catalog: a set of ready-made connectors you can toggle on.
- Custom: add your own MCP connector by its URL.
- Per-message: enabling a tool for one message doesn't keep it on for later ones.
Google: Gmail, Calendar, and Drive
Ask for something that needs your Google account — "email this to me", "save this to my Drive", "add this to my calendar" — and the AI walks you through a one-time Google sign-in (OAuth). After that:
- Gmail: send email from your connected account
- Calendar: read and create calendar events
- Drive: save files to and read files from Drive
Use cases that combine them
- "Search the web for Q2 trends and build a slide deck from what you find." (search → artifact)
- "Email today's market summary to me at 5pm." (search + Gmail, scheduled)
- "Read the budget file in my Drive and tell me the variance." (Drive → analysis)
- "Find the next two Fridays and add 'team sync' to my calendar." (search + Calendar)
